Welcome
to the New Jersey
Council on Special Transportation's Official Website. The Site was designed to
not only inform members of our organizations activities, but also to assist
individuals not familiar with what transportation services are available.
At this Site, the word
transportation may refer to paratransit, special transportation, community
transportation, employment transportation and/or Medicaid transportation.
This COST site was designed to
be user friendly particularly to someone who is inquiring about transportation
services in a particular county or town.
The types of transportation
advocated by COST include services for senior citizens, persons with
disabilities, low income, welfare to work and job access. Transportation
services may include but is not limited to: non-emergency medical appointments,
dialysis, physical and mental therapy, competitive and non-competitive work
sites, nutrition sites, post-secondary education Veteran services, food
shopping, Medicaid transportation, social and recreational activities, etc.
The
New Jersey Council on Special Transportation sponsors, co-sponsors and supports
many events throughout the year including the TransAction
Conference in Atlantic City, NJ; our annual Paratransit
Roadeo and recognition awards; a vendor exposition;
as well as our monthly membership meetings.
