Roadeo
As the
event date nears, additional information and registration forms will
become available on this website.
The
New Jersey Council on Special Transportation's 28th Annual New Jersey
Paratransit Roadeo will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at one of
the parking lots in Six Flags' Great Adventure, Jackson, NJ. The event is sponsored by COST and New Jersey Transit's Office of Local
Programs Support.
The Paratransit
Roadeo allows drivers from around the state to compete against one another's
driving skills. The Roadeo course is a maze of barrels and cones designed to
represent everyday driving patterns. Drivers are scored on how successful
they are in maneuvering their vehicle around each obstacle. Scores are also
tallied on client sensitivity, wheelchair boarding and a written
examination.
Trophies and prizes
are awarded to the top four high scorers. In addition, the first and second
place winners are invited to represent New Jersey at the National Roadeo
competition.
Members agency employees of the NJ Council on Special
Transportation, those agencies that receive New Jersey Transit 5310
and 5311 funding and NJ Transit Access Link contracted drivers may compete.
